LEGAL · PRIVACY POLICY
Your privacy, in plain language.
EFFECTIVE AUGUST 20, 2026 · LAST UPDATED AUGUST 20, 2026
Introduction
SECTION 01Little Carriers LLC ("we," "us," or "our") operates smallpetcarriers.com (the "Site"). This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, how long we keep it, and what rights you have regarding your data.
The short version: this Site collects little. There is no account system and no on-site card checkout. Consent is managed by Termly. Optional tawk.to chat stays blocked until you accept. We do not run advertising pixels. The main way we receive personal information is when you choose to send it — through the quote request form, by email, phone, or chat after you opt in.
This policy applies to all visitors and users of the Site, and to conversations you have with us by email or phone.
Information we collect
SECTION 022.1 Information you provide directly
Quote request form. When you use the form at /quote, we collect your name and email address (both required), plus whatever you choose to add: organization name, organization type (shelter, veterinarian, retailer, breeder, or individual), the quantities you want per shell size, any custom-work options, your timeline, and your notes.
Fit Guide. The Fit Guide asks for your pet's weight, but the slider runs entirely in your browser. The number you enter is never sent to us, logged, or stored anywhere.
Phone and email. If you call or write to us, we keep the conversation and the contact details you share (such as your email address or phone number) so we can respond and pick up the thread later.
2.2 Information collected automatically
Hosting server logs. Our hosting provider's web server records standard technical information for each request — IP address, date and time, page requested, browser type, and referring page. These logs exist for security and debugging and are deleted after 30 days.
Google Fonts. The Site loads its typefaces from Google Fonts. When a page loads, your browser requests the font files from Google's servers (fonts.googleapis.com and fonts.gstatic.com), and Google receives your IP address and browser user-agent to deliver them. We do not receive any of that data.
Termly. The consent manager loads from app.termly.io so we can record your cookie and tracking choices, including a reopenable Cookie Settings control in the footer.
tawk.to (optional). Live chat is blocked by Termly AutoBlocker until you accept the matching category. If you chat with us, tawk.to processes the conversation on its servers.
We do not run advertising pixels or a first-party analytics tool. Do not send card numbers in chat, email, or the quote form.
2.3 Information from third parties
We do not buy lists from data brokers or advertising networks. Third parties that may see technical or form data are listed in section 4 (Cloudflare, Google Fonts, Termly, tawk.to if you accept chat, Resend, and Migadu).
2.4 Cookies and similar technologies
Termly manages cookies and similar technologies. Necessary consent records can run without a choice. Optional tools — including tawk.to — stay blocked until you accept. Reopen that choice with Cookie Settings in the footer. Details are in the Cookie Notice.
| Cookie type | Purpose | Examples found | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| Essential | Security, load, and the Termly consent record | Termly consent cookie | Per Termly scan |
| Analytics | Usage statistics | None we operate | — |
| Marketing | Advertising or retargeting | None we operate | — |
| Functional / chat | Optional live chat after consent | tawk.to, if accepted | Per tawk.to / Termly scan |
How we use your information
SECTION 03We use the information above only to:
- Respond to your quote request and prepare your order
- Answer fit, sizing, and shell questions you send us
- Keep the records the law requires, such as tax records
We do not use your information for advertising, profiling, or automated decision-making, and we do not send newsletters or marketing email.
Legal basis for processing (GDPR)
| Purpose | Legal basis |
|---|---|
| Responding to your quote request and preparing an order | Contractual necessity — steps taken at your request before a contract |
| Customer support and correspondence | Legitimate interest — answering you and running the shop |
| Record-keeping, tax, and regulatory compliance | Legal obligation |
| Consent records and optional live chat | Consent — Termly; tawk.to only after you accept |
| Hosting logs and font files | Legitimate interest — serving and securing the Site |
Data retention
SECTION 05We keep personal information only as long as it serves the purpose you gave it to us for:
| Data type | Retention period | Reason |
|---|---|---|
| Quote requests | 24 months | To prepare your order and answer follow-ups |
| Email correspondence | 24 months | Support history and continuity |
| Server logs | 30 days | Security and debugging |
When a retention period ends, the information is deleted. Records we must keep by law (for example, tax records of completed orders) are kept for the legally required period only.
Data security
SECTION 06We protect the small amount of personal information we hold with appropriate technical and organizational measures:
- Encryption in transit — the Site is served over HTTPS/TLS
- Access controls — only people who need your information to answer you can see it
- No payment card data on this Site — the quote API rejects likely card numbers before storage; when card checkout opens it will be Stripe-hosted, not a form here. Do not send card numbers in tawk.to chat.
No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, but because the Site collects so little, there is very little at risk. You can read more on our security page.

Children's privacy
SECTION 09The Site is not directed at children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Our products are sold to adults. If we discover that a child has sent us personal information, we will delete it promptly. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at quotes@smallpetcarriers.com.
International data transfers
SECTION 10We are based in Wisconsin, in the United States. If you visit the Site or contact us from another country, your information is transferred to and processed in the United States, where data protection laws may differ from those where you live.
Google Fonts processes visitor IP addresses in the United States to deliver font files. For transfers from the EEA and UK, Google relies on Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) approved by the European Commission. Our hosting and email providers process data under their own data protection terms.
Changes to this privacy policy
SECTION 11We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will post the updated policy on this page and change the "Last updated" date at the top. We encourage you to review this page periodically. Your continued use of the Site after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
