Ferrets, rats, and young rabbits travel long, like a sock with ambitions. The species presets already include it. Measuring by hand? Add a fifth.

Weigh on any bathroom scale
Step on holding the animal, step on without, subtract. For pocket pets, a kitchen scale and a coffee mug does the job. Rinse the mug.
